Copyright removal requests sent to Google, by the numbers

These figures cover every copyright removal request sent to Google, not only requests about leaked content.

Copyright removal requests sent to Google have asked it to delist 17,917,574,286 URLs from Search since March 10, 2011, naming 6,547,920 domains. In Google's public dataset, 15,133,536,607 of 20,900,631,656 listed URLs were removed (72.41%, our math on Google's counts) and 4,732,078,771 were not in Google's index (22.64%). Request volume keeps climbing: 2025 set a record, and 2026 passed it before October ended.

How many domains, owners and reporters are involved

Google's report counts the domains named in requests, the copyright owners and the reporting organizations: rights holders, agents and typical services that send requests on behalf of owners or themselves. The domain figure is an aggregate count only.

What this means for creators

These numbers show how common copyright delisting requests are and how much of the work happens through notices. Most URLs in Google's dataset that were reported and still in its index were removed from Search results by Google, but some were not, and every notice needs accurate links and a valid signature. For the creator, the practical step is to keep a record of where their work appears without permission and to send clear, signed notices. When the creator sends LeakVoid the links, LeakVoid prepares the notices, the creator reviews and approves them, and LeakVoid sends them and shows the status of each notice on the dashboard. LeakVoid cannot promise any outcome; each site and Google decide what happens to a notice.
