How to recognize our check
We send this User-Agent with each check:
LeakVoidBioCheck/1.0 (+https://leakvoid.com/bio-check)
When we load a page
Only when a creator asks us to. To show us that a page is theirs, a creator puts a short code from us in their bio or in a post. They tell us which page it's on and ask us to check it. We then load that page to look for the code.
We load the page once for each check the creator asks for, and follow at most two redirects on the same site.
What we don't do
We don't log in or use cookies. We don't get around logins, captchas or blocks, and we don't retry when we're blocked. We record that we couldn't check. Because each check is one page the creator asked us to look at, we don't read robots.txt for it.
What we read and what we keep
We read the page only to look for the code. We don't store the page's content. We keep the page's URL, a hash of the response, the time of the check and whether the code was found, not the page itself.
Questions from site operators
If you run a site and have a question about our bio code check, or want us to stop checking pages on your site, email hello@leakvoid.com and we'll look into it.
